Visit Wine
Country
Tucked along the banks of the scenic Russian
River is Healdsburg, a gem of a town that is
perhaps Sonoma countrys best kept secret. This
country-chic haven is noted for its warmth and
friendly folk as often as it is acclaimed for
the picture perfect climate and proximity to
some of the areas most notable wineries and
agricultural treasures. Small town charm, and
big city amenities abound, as you venture out
from your home base at 235 Sun Court. Far from
the highbrow attitudes that pervade the Napa
Valley to the East, Sonoma has, what the New
York Times (July 1998) calls, a rural idyll that
takes pride in its eccentrics and rough edges."
Artisanal cheeses, fresh-pressed olive oils,
homemade jams, rustic Old-World style breads,
Muscory duck fois grass, and organic produce,
are the raw ingredients that provide the impetus
for some of the countrys finest restaurants and
specialty food shops. They also make for great
impromptu picnics as you visit the areas
world-class wineries.

offers boating, hiking, camping and more. A
visit to town is all it takes to set up a canoe
or kayaking trip on the river. Biking is also a
